English Proficiency for Undergraduate Admissions - Lincoln Campus

Students whose native language is not English are required to demonstrate English proficiency by any of the following:

Internet-based TOEFL composite of 70 and writing subscore of 20 
Paper-based TOEFL composite of 523 or higher* 
IELTS composite of 6.0 and writing subscore of 5.5
ACT English subscore of 20 or higher* 
SAT I critical reading subscore of 470 or higher* 
Completion of 30 semester hours (or equivalent) at a college or community college in the U.S.*
Graduation from a high school in the U.S.*
UNL English placement exam score of 77 

* Students who demonstrate this form of English proficiency will be required to take the UNL English Placement Exam upon arrival at UNL.
